Make Love Not War
I've been a little shellshocked here, not really able to take in all that's happening. I did think that Bush would take us to war. But I didn't know exactly how it would make me feel. I'm feeling kind of at loose ends. A little unbelieving. Also fearful as usual that this gang in the White House are taking us down an extremely dangerous road.
What's on TV really bothers me. It's like there are two different realities. The one on TV, and the one on the internet. I go to the TV to see visuals. I go to the internet to get some real news, if I can. TV is giving us mostly a lot of maps. When you look at the small area of the interior of Iraq where our troops are, and you take away all the boundaries of the other countries, you see how vulnerable we are over there, I don't care if we do have 300,000 guys. If the rest of Islam decides to wipe us out, they could do it. I also realize how vulnerable the "embedded" journalists are. I hope no reporters get their heads blown off on live TV.
And now all of this whining about how unfair the Iraqi army is fighting. What did they expect, I wonder? That anyone is trying to convince us that A) nobody thought they would fight dirty and B) everybody thought the war would be over in a few days is not believeable. All those military geniuses, and not one anticipated a prolonged fight? Not one expected guerilla tactics? Come on.
Peculiar about the Perle resignation, too. As if his is the only conflict of interest that means anything within this administration? There must have been much more to this. I only think this because if they won't let any (Bush administration) Enron guys fall, this Perle thing must be REALLY bad.
There's only one thing for it. I don't know about you but I need to put all of this on the back burner of my mind and have some sanity-restoring FUN. There is someone out there that I would like to have a little fun with. I think you know who you are!
