Re: Israel attacking Syria

I knew as soon as I heard this news that Bush would say this is OK. After all, he used the same rationale for attacking Afghanistan and Iraq, and for his ongoing 'War on Terror' strategy. So now there is precedent for pre-emptive attacks on the basis of fighting terrorism. Maybe this was a terrorist training camp in Syria -- but my point is that now this rationale of Bush's is going to be copied all the time. No checking in with the U.N. rules. Anyone will now attack anyone, anywhere, and then say, "We have to stop the terrorists before they get us."

Bush's foreign policy and especially his pre-emptive strike doctrine is going to bring a lot of big ugly mutated chickens home to roost.

Greg Palast Explains California Recall

You know how much I love conspiracy theories. Read what Greg Palast has to say about why this recall is happening and what the Terminator's part in it is. Excerpt:

So think about this. The state of California is in the hole by $8 billion for the coming year. That's chump change next to the $8 TRILLION in deficits and surplus losses planned and incurred by George Bush. Nevertheless, the $8 billion deficit is the hanging rope California's right wing is using to lynch Governor Davis.

Yet only Davis and Bustamante are taking direct action to get back the $9 billion that was vacuumed out of the state by Enron, Reliant, Dynegy, Williams Company and the other Texas bandits who squeezed the state by the bulbs.

But if Arnold is selected, it's 'hasta la vista' to the $9 billion. When the electricity emperors whistle, Arnold comes -- to the Peninsula Hotel or the Governor's mansion. The he-man turns pussycat and curls up in their lap.

Snobby Republican Doctor's Wife

Modes Des Coiffures, #3.

Speaking of Republicans, sorry I've been being so frivolous as to give you only les hairs-dos lately, when I should be dogging away at my partisan politics. Maybe it's just a reaction to the silliness of the California recall. Thank god that will be over tomorrow. I am so sick of the whole Fellini movie. Here is the original packaging for the Modesseries, designed by moi. You can see it's all worn out from hours of fun play! Honey West, #7, is my favorite.

I at one time wanted to model myself on Ms. West, a 60s TV action heroine. She had a really sexy mole on her chin. As it turned out, the best I can claim is a big freckle on my nose.

Fiona and early role model Honey West c. 1965

I just Googed Honey West. The show was on in 1965. That would have made me about 8 at the time. You can see my talent developing (my science presentation) as a graphic designer. I thought Honey West was so cool. Here are some episode descriptions I found online:

Honey poses as a society matron in an effort to smash a blackmailing ring that preys on wealthy women.

In order to test a museum's security system, an insurance company hires Honey to steal a jade carving that they have insured.

Honey's been hired to attend a charity ball with Ramon Vargas, and Ramon is dressed to kill -- in fact, he has just committed murder.

My brother and I were allowed to watch apalling amounts of TV. It's interesting that I'm not more warped as a result, but I guess that is a relative perspective.
