Peeves on June 8, 2004 at 4:08 p.m.: the overwhelming amount of email that waits to be filed and filtered, sleep deprivation and the smell of hot asphalt.

Faves on July 23 at 9:19 a.m.: State Farm's coverage of our flooded basement, NPR's morning edition, and the tiny baby birds that have just hatched, nesting in the hanging floor pot on my front porch.

Peeves on July 23 at 9:19 a.m.: I-95 South on any summer weekend, a broken air conditioning unit with notification that the part needed to fix it won't come in until next week.

Peeves on March 20, 2003 at 1:45 p.m.: the lack of a pedestrian-friendly entrance at Beatley Library in Alexandria, the ants I just discovered on the outside of our house.

Peeves on March 20, 2003 at 1:45 p.m.: This week's massive snowstorm (and the fact that it has held my knee surgeon hostage in the Denver airport); the intense but somewhat numb look on Bush's face when he tells us we're going to war.

Peeves on October 3, 2002 at 3 p.m.: Northern Pipeline's gas contractors, hot humid weather when it's supposed to be Fall, the fact that Verizon's voicemail doesn't have a no-ring option.
