WWJD?

Jesus has been in the news lately.  You may have seen the recent campaign from the Evangelical Environmental Network called "What Would Jesus Drive?"  Being a sarcastic Agnostic, I've always found the WWJD phenomenon to have more humor value than anything.  I mean, here people are, trying to live their lives according to the standard of JESUS, and what He would do, but they have to wear a bracelet to remind them that they've undertaken this impossible commitment.  Believe me, if Jesus was my standard, I think it would be the foremost source of thought and frustration each and every day.

But the What Would Jesus Drive movement is a great idea.  You'd have to be an oil executive or President to not see the environmental (and economic) benefits in reducing the number of SUV's on the road.

Anyway, I was thinking about the questions Jesus must hear, so I wrote about that on the Pipeline Fiction page.  And yes, I do think people ask Jesus watersports questions...

Update on the Money Truck

A full 24 hours after the $50,000 initially hit I-94, there was still $5,000 missing.  Jane and I drove by the spot on Thanksgiving night; our eyes were peeled, but no luck.  I guess we already had enough to be thankful for.

I have to think at least some of that money ended up in the pockets of the various people (troopers, Highway Helpers, probably others...) who stopped to help round up the dough in an official capacity.  Those are the only people with any chance to make it home with any of that cash; anyone who stopped in their car is going to be visible on the highway video cameras, and they will almost surely be found.  Bummer to have $50,000 drop out of a truck in front of you, and you can't really touch the money.
