I saw The Hours yesterday and these are some of the thoughts that passed through my head.
1. Choices are what make life bearable and if you screw up, you should say “we do what we do for reasons that seem compelling at the time” and forgive yourself. But if there are children involved, forget your own ego. It doesn’t matter anymore.
2. Nicole Kidman’s Virginia Woolf needed some serious lip balm.
3. All these depressed people had better start chomping down some walnuts. They probably have a serious Omega-3 deficiency.
4. What is Meryl Streep’s character talking about?
5. If that score doesn’t shut up, I’m leaving.
6. Meryl Streep’s hair is goofy in exactly the way my own hair is goofy.
7. Hmmm. . .what does it mean to live?
8. Thank God I do not have to dress like a 1950’s housewife. How did they move?
9. Virginia Woolf didn’t want to eat anything, much less walnuts. This was her problem.
10. Any movie that makes me think about the virtues of food is a good movie.
