Still mulling over the two very frou-frou books I got for Valentine's Day:  Entre Nous and Better than Beauty.  After a heavy diet of feminism, philosophy and Chesterton, this light-hearted reading has been just the thing.  Entre Nous even offered up a leg of lamb recipe I'll soon be trying and I'll be offering up a little commentary on the book itself.

Not today, though, for I am heading up to the Cities (as we say around here, meaning the "Twin Cities" of St. Paul and Minneapolis) to see Girl with A Pearl Earring and have dinner with my old friend from high school who runs the theatre.  It looks like a good day for driving--sunshine, no blizzards in sight and the driver's side mirror on my car that I destroyed a few weeks ago has been replaced by a new one, scrounged from a local junkyard.  It's painted to match, but still feels a bit like I'm driving a Frankenstein wagon.
