Because my father just bought himself a new computer monitor (while he was Christmas shopping for others), thereby rendering null and void the computer monitor we had already bought for his gift,  I had to head out into the frigid temperatures today in order to come up with Plan B.

I do most of my Christmas shopping in my head, coming up with ideas for people, and then executing those ideas.  Going to a store at the last minute, hoping to just bump into something so and so might like and could use, is not my idea of a good time.

I spent several hours in shops around town and didn’t find a thing for him, except a new mouse.  Why are men so difficult to buy for?  I saw thousands of things I thought my sister and sister-in-law would like, but nothing for my Dad.  Looks like I’ll be resorting to a gift certificate.

When I came home, I was cold, tired and hungry, but a good plate of leftover shepherd’s pie and a warm bath had me feeling like a new woman.  Too bad you can’t just give warm baths and shepherd pies for Christmas.
