More Collisions
The day after I posted “Worlds Colliding”, wherein I told you that “Stan” had discovered Real Live Preacher, I got a phone call from a woman in our church.
She said, “I have four words to say to you."
Ouch. Good things don't normally come after a conversation opener like that.
"Are they bad words", I asked, timidly?
"Sorta bad", she said, starting to giggle. "Fucktard Nerdy Redhead Twat."
Busted again.
Turns out she and her husband have been reading RLP secretly. They weren’t going to say anything, not wanting to spoil my illusion of anonymity, but when they read about “Stan” they decided to speak up.
It seems Real Live Preacher is now blogrolled on quite a few sites out there. They were looking for religious blogs, following links, nosing around, and the rest is history. If there was any doubt in their minds, the pictures of my daughters on Apache Peak erased it.
I guess I should give them fake names like I did for “Stan and Carol”. Seems only fair.
How about “Evangelina” and “Pepe”?
I carry on relationships with everyone in our church, but there are a few people with whom I share deep and abiding friendships. These are people I would want to be with whether or not I was their minister. In many ways they are MY pastors. They nurture me and help me make it through the hard times.
“Evangelina and Pepe” are among those. So are “Stan and Carol”. These friendships have blessed me through the years.
So now four people in my church know about Real Live Preacher. Things are getting interesting.
E and P, thanks for keeping my secret. You guys are great.
Love,
Me.
