Hayley's Corner
I received a wonderful email from a very sincere person who simply asked if I might visit the website of a little girl named Hayley. Hayley is a tiny girl who is fighting a tough battle against leukemia. She has about a one percent chance of survival.
Her website tells her story. Her parents are Christians, and it is very meaningful for them to know that people are praying for their little girl. Whatever you think about prayer, you can't deny the power of community and shared concern.
Maybe you have time for a visit, a prayer, and maybe a click on their guestbook to let them know you prayed for them. Things like that can mean a lot.
Dear God,
We don't understand the bigness of your plans, nor do we understand if, when, or how you work in this world. We pray out of obedience and in imitation of Christ. And we pray because we are small people who feel grief and pain very deeply. We don't like to think of little girls facing death, and we wonder if you might have planted that sensitivity in our hearts. So yes, we pray. In weakness we pray, and we pray bringing the strongest feelings we have to this task.
We trust that you will handle the hows, whens and whys with Hayley and with other children in need. Please comfort and heal Hayley and her family.
Please.
from some of us here at rlp,
amen.
