I had this funny picture in my head of a freak-show barker shouting, "Come, See a Real Live Preacher".

Things I’ve Seen and Read Lately

I was delighted with Napoleon Dynamite. What a hilarious movie. It has achieved cult status for our family, and we constantly repeat lines from it around the house.

“I’ll do whatever I feel like – GOSH!
Or
“Heck yes I am.”

I also saw “The Twilight Samurai,” another wonderful film. It’s about a Samurai who is forced to stay home and care for his children. It’s a beautiful movie and quite a love story.

If you haven’t seen the BBC series “The Office,” then you have missed one of the greatest television comedies of all time, in my opinion. I got season two and the finale, a two hour special, for Christmas.

And finally, in spite of my recent commitment to read nothing but excellent literature as a way of nurturing my writing, a good friend has convinced me to read Neil Gaiman’s comic book series, “The Sandman.” I’m not normally a comic book fan, but if you like archetype, myth, and dreaming, this is a comic book series that might interest you.
