I’m Back and What’s the Deal With all the Email?
The retreat was wonderful. Just what I needed. There were seven of us. Five pastors, all of us rather out of the loop and a little out of synch. And two guys who are heading for seminary. Matt from Correction, and Jeremy, a young guy from Austin who showed up at my church a couple of weeks ago and announced that he was going to seminary. We had lunch to talk about it, and now he’s a friend. That’s how things like that happen sometimes.
Anyway, we drank beer, played pool, and pretty much talked for 36 hours straight. This is the first of what we hope will become a regular event. So there was a lot of "getting to know you better" stuff going on.
Oh and hey listen, about that essay I pulled on Sunday. It’s no big deal, really. I don’t let things like that bother me. I’m a professional writer now. I can’t spend any energy worrying about some comments, right? So it’s cool. You know, the essay itself probably just needs a little work. I put it in my greenhouse with the hundreds of other essays that need a little more time...and maybe a little more prayer.
But really, all the emails! You guys are great. Stop it now.
This is weird though - Someone posted something on my weblog yesterday, but it’s just a bunch of gibberish. I can’t read it. I tried to delete it, but it can’t. I’m pissed at the Radio software folks. I can’t find anything in their FAQ about this. So I do know about the unreadable mess that was posted on Tuesday. No need to email me about it. I guess it will just work its way off the page in a few days, and this will be over.
Funny how things work themselves out, huh?
So I'm ready to get into some serious writing, but it's going to be a few days. The retreat got me a little behind in my schedule, and I've got a number of websites with deadlines. And of course the ever looming sermon and worship coming up on Sunday.
I'll see you when I see you.
