A Charming Movie
I saw The Story of the Weeping Camel tonight and found it to be utterly charming. It moves slowly, reminding me somewhat of The Fast Runner. You will have to abandon your modern impatience and settle into an ancient perspective if you are going to enjoy these films.
The ways of humans are very old. If there is any part of you that has not forgotten the old wisdom, you will find these films to be as comforting and soothing as a lullabye.
Do not miss the end of Weeping Camel when they bring out the family members to smile at the camera.
Part Two of Came Grief and Compassion is done. I'll want to spend a little time with it early tomorrow, and then I will post it. Christian Century decided to pass on it.
peace,
