Visual Voice
Here is a precious blog that calms my soul when I need it. It's a drop of beauty in the blog world. I've corresponded with the woman who does this blog, and she seems like the sort of person you'd like to have for a friend. I really got hooked when I saw the picture she posted on her artist's statement page.
Everything she does has beauty to it. You should see and listen to her Advent calendar. Sadly, it only works during Advent (unless you change your computer date), but if you go there you can see what I mean by her artistic touch.
I need beauty in my life. Visuals, sounds, typefaces, and such are important to me. Beauty is a goodness that burrows into your soul and creates longing. Longing, C.S. Lewis reminds us, leads to joy. And joy leads to, well, what lies behind joy.
