So I'm not sure how this works, but I just posted this story that I've been meaning to write for the longest time (as will be apparent to you, if you actually read the thing). I'm not really a writer - this is the first bit of fiction I've written since high school, I think, and that was all of about 4 paragraphs long. So please, be gentle with it.
In one of his many introductions, Stephen King talked about people who say that they'd like to write, but they just can't ever seem to get around to it. He said that, to him, the thing is that he just can't not write. That's kind of how this story was, to me. I finally "get it". This story has been clinking around my brain, where I didn't think I could do it justice. I even thought of giving up the idea to a real writer, just because it seemed so interesting that it had to get written.
This blog gave me the impetus, as did Diane (though probably unbeknownst to her), who participated in last month's NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month. Consider this me dipping my toes in the water. Maybe next year, if I do get another idea, I will actually join the fray!
Oh yeah, and I wonder why Microsoft Word seems to think that "episiotomy" should be "episiotomies"??
