Speaking of reproductive rights...
There was this article in the paper today, about the FDA supporting the sale of a diet pill over the counter. The AP article says this: "Alli would have half the dosage of Xenical but would be freely available for purchase by adults."
Read those last three words again. "Purchase by adults." The Bush administration should definitely not take the FDA's recommendation and should instead ban this drug from over-the-counter sales, don't you think? After all, remember Plan B? Drug store clerks are apparently completely incapable of checking IDs to ensure that this drug is not purchaseable by those under 18. So therefore, this drug should not be approved for OTC sales, either.
Of course you know it will be. After all, this pill has nothing to do with allowing women to protect themselves from getting pregnant, and plus, it's something that men can use as well. Therefore, this drug will get approved for OTC sales. Plan B, alas, won't get approved until we get this dick (actually, both of them) out of the White House.
