Stop the presses!  Hold that front page!  After three months of Kafkaesque bewilderment, the navlinks are finally working.  No thanks to me or UserLand.  The real hero in this story is Susan McNerney, aka Pesky the Rat.  She's the computer whiz who finally figured it out.

Let's take the opportunity to do a little blogrolling.  If you haven't seen Susan's site, click on the now functional link to the left and go there.  Not only is the writing consistently creative, but the graphics, as you would suspect, are slicker than wet snot on a brass doorknob.  This is really what blogging is all about.

Mark Hoback is the twisted genius behind Fried Green Al-Qaedas.  He also puts in an amazing amount of work into the Virtual Occoquan, which showcases the best of the salon blogs each week.

What can I say about the Raven?  He's a gentleman and a scholar and writes a helluva blog in spite of that.  He's also a great source of advice and encouragement to new bloggers.

I'd like Rayne's blog even if she didn't appreciate my one-liners.  She's one of those encyclopedic synthesists who can write about almost anything with authority and style.

Real Live Preacher is simply a phenomenon.  As an ordained minister, I have had the pleasure to conduct some fairly intense dialogs with the Preach.  He's the genuine article and is in grave danger of giving the church a good rep.

Some other blogs I enjoy that will soon be added to the navlinks when I get some time: FIONA, Le Pretre Noir (another clergyman), Tenorman, Maxine's Radio Weblog, and a new one entitled My So-called Lesbian Life.  You'll see one of my columns from a couple of years ago posted on the latter in a day or so.

They all make fascinating reading and one of my excuses for not posting more often.  Thanks again to Susan for solving the riddle of the Sphinx.
