As regular readers know, I spend my time off for six months of the year snowboarding in Whistler, BC.  I am able to do this because Reiko, the love of my life, owns a condo in the world-class resort.  Otherwise, I would never be able to afford such jet set surroundings on an editor's salary.

Due to Whistler's latitude and altitude, we enjoyed our final days of snowboarding for this season Tuesday and Wednesday.  The snow was rather well-used, but the weather was fabulous.  So we did a little snowboarding and a lot of photography.  You'll get the idea of why Whistler is regularly voted the best ski resort in North America.

Reiko competes with the scenery at the top of Harmony Bowl on Whistler Mountain.

That's Alpha Lake in the foreground, Whistler Mountain in the background.  The ski runs are on the other side of the hill.

This small island in Alpha Lake is where Reiko and I journeyed in my canoe on a hot August afternoon almost five years ago.  We had been dating for about a month, but the hours we spent swimming and sunbathing and talking turned out to be the basis of a magical relationship.  Reiko named it Fantasy Island.

So long from Whistler until the flakes begin to fall in December.
