As promised, I did some more blogsploration today and found further reasons to be encouraged by what's going on here at Salon.  Here are some sites that I can recommend with enthusiasm and a clear conscience.

Joe Watterson at Random Points is an artist of the screed.  A recent post on the subject of paper and how we come by it was right on the money.

Some bloggers exhaust their creativity after coming up with a sensational title.  Not so, Harald at Daihatsu Graceland.  He comes to us from The Netherlands and, as a writer, lives up to the nifty title.

There is so much bad poetry in the world that when a consistently good poet comes along, it's a real treat to be able to read him regularly.  The cleverly titled Poetry (aka Dr. Omed's Tent Show Revival) showcases the work of Dana Pattilo.  He's good.  Damn good.  His Twelve Steps of Poetry Anonymous is absolutely delicious.

Another well-titled blog is The Homeless Leftists.  They describe themselves as "...a couple of disenchanted, left-leaning, quasi Democrats."  That in itself may not be so unusual here at Salon, but these two are not your average Bushbashers.

Finally, another avatar of my favorite uncle, Scott Jorgensen.  His Base Camp incarnation features sharp and funny observations from all over America.  Treat yourself to his slightly askew road trip.

Have fun!
