I'll see your indictment and raise it $4.25 billion

Associated Press reports that Scott Sullivan, former CFO for WorldCom, er, MCI, has been charged with bank fraud and lying on financial statements to secure $4.25 billion (with a 'B') for the company. Sullivan has already pleaded not guilty to charges of securities fraud and making false financial filings to government regulators.

Experts see the new charges as a sign that negotiations have broken down between Sullivan and the government to secure his testimony against former WorldCom, er, MCI, CEO Bernhard Ebbers. Sullivan faced 65 years in prison on the original charges. The new charges could add 120 years to his sentence. His trial is scheduled to being on September 8.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Sullivan to serve any significant time.
