Do Over!

Every once in awhile someone comes along with a pearl of wisdom which makes all the sense in the world even though you wouldn't have thought of it yourself in a million years.  So for the past day and some change I have been emoting over how to get my site back and here comes Mark with the suggestion that I just give it up.  As he said, "It seems nobody but Google really cares about what you wrote a year ago" so just pick it up from here and go.  I do have the banner stored and I can get my candle back and the war coffer counter, so what the hey?  There's something deeply theological in Mark's comment, probably about not holding on to the past or worrying about the future.  Just be in the moment...so that's what's going to happen...as soon as I can get the wonderful folks at Loser Land to send me my serial number so I can redesign the page.  Until then, this is what we got...

I have been gone a lot longer than I wanted to be...but it has been a productive absence.  The thesis is done!!  It went to my readers on Friday and now I am awaiting their corrections and suggestions.  As is usually the case when you're so caught up in something, you can't see the forest for the trees.  I made the mistake of putting the thing in the mail to my readers before I gave it to the lovely Mrs. Bojangles.  She succeeded in finding some GLARING grammatical errors in the thing which I couldn't see and upon seeing them, don't believe I wrote.  Somebody must've gotten in the computer while my back was turned...or it was a momentary possession by the anti-Christ...had to be something like that...Anyway, my readers are going to have a lot of fun with this...and my wife continues to remind me that I am as human as the next person.

Here's hoping Loser Land will respond to my cries for help tomorrow and I can get the site back up to speed again.  I feel so naked in this mode!!  Now that the thesis is done, I can devote myself to other pursuits, like writing more regularly here.  That'll be a switch from the past couple of months...Preacher's got his book done, I've got the thesis done and maybe I'll get this blog re-started...all's right with the world!
