Cabin Fever

This is interesting...I go away for awhile and come back to find that three of my most recent posts have just disappeared into the ether.  They're still on my local machine but have gone away from the site.  I dunno...maybe Loser Land has it in for me, but it seems, lately, that every time I turn my back for a little while, something disappears.  Rats...but it is indicative of the season and the mood...

We had nearly a foot of snow on the mountain yesterday.  When I lived in Anchorage a lifetime ago, after a warm spell, we would have three feet of snow drop overnight in April, and you could hear guns going off all over town.  Cabin fever is a terrible thing, and not limited to those in the Great Land.  It is here in Western Maryland, for all to behold, in all its black, depressing, life-sucking, glory.  This time of year, I can't ice fish anymore, it's too messy to ride the Harley, and I can't stand basketball.  The black gets blacker!!

So, we are fighting back, and the post Easter trip looks like a cruise this year.  A wonderful, 14 day, warm, balmy, well-fed, romantic, cruise from Ft. Lauderdale, through the Panama Canal, to L.A. with stops in Aruba, Costa Rica, and Mexico.  Cast caution to the winds, "Decadence is mine," saith Bojangles!  I will eat the bitter herbs of the Passover this week, and smear the blood of a Groundhog on the lintel of our home, praying for the passage of the God of Winter, looking to the Resurrection to New Life in our Lord in spirit and Princess Cruise Lines in body and mind.  A fine melding of the heavenly and the earthly, don't you think???  Perhaps I'll even want to start writing again....
