Freak-you-out-definition of the day: Fascism a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. b. A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government. I pulled this definition from dictionary.com today, after having a discussion with a good friend of mine about the word socialist and fascism. He told me that fascism was approximately to the right, what socialism is to the left. I just wanted to see the formal definition just to have it in my head. Needless to say I was rather surprised and freaked out to realize how close America is to that definition. 5:47:21 PM    comment []
