Happy Thanksgiving

Needless to say, Thanksgiving is my Favorite Holiday!  A day dedicated to cooking, good smells, and feasting?  Sign me up. . . .

For some reason this year I am feeling especially chipper as we get ready to head up northwards.  Maybe it's just because I really need the few days off (sometimes the working grind gets you more than others) but I am all smiles, looking forward to Turkey and Trimmings (or whatever it is we have -- the meal plans, at the house of family friends, are still unclear) and Beaujolais!

PS.  The untoward warmth in France this summer was good for some -- the Beaujolais Nouveau is rather delightful (in its own truly uncomplicated way).  And people seem to be guzzling it away -- asking for more, instead of the usual scenario, where we BEG customers to buy just one more case!  If you can find something from a smaller producer, not the omnipresent Dubouef, so much the better -- you might end up with something light, fresh, fruity, and gulpable.  As a friend put it, "the Nouveau is a viable Thanksgiving wine this year."  True, one wants a wine that is purely yummy, not in the least intellectual, with the Turkey meal.

Whatever you eat and drink, enjoy!
