Pauly Shore will host the 2003 Stony Awards held in Chicago tomorrow. Along with fun categories like Stoner of the Year are categories for Best Political Documentary and Best Cultural Documentary. Stoners can be serious see? :)
back to fun...
Jack Black, Horatio Sanz, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Lillard and Alex Burns are all up for the coveted Stoner of the Year award, snagged by Snoop Dogg last year
go Jack go! I've loved Jack Black since I first saw a little 10 minute spot with him and Kyle Glass on Mr Show some years ago. Tenacious D? what in the hell? i was hooked.

currently reading (or more accurately, trying to finish!)
American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Since I'm not much of a writer, I'm linking this review of American Gods from popmatters.com and here's a snip:
British writer Neil Gaiman may at first seem an unlikely candidate as one who would attempt a novel that seeks out the heart of America -- after all, he's not from here. Nevertheless, he tries and succeeds in abundance with American Gods, his most epic prose work to date. In it, he introduces us to the personified representations of Americans' dreams, the old gods our ancestors and current immigrants carry into this land and the new ones created in the fast-paced technological world of modern life. He has woven a contemporary myth, as relevant a commentary on society as those of old.
Now, I'm not struggling to finish this book because I am not enjoying it. I love this book, I think Gaiman does a great job with this book and i love the gods/characters. So I'm hoping to finish it by the weekend. Anyway, Gaiman is one of my favorite writers.
I was first introduced to Gaiman when I picked up and read my friend's copy of Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett) And I also read Neverwhere.

hey fatty!
would the states benefit from a dept of exercise?
What America needs is a change of individual attitudes, Young said. Even where Americans have abundant opportunities to exercise, such as walking on sidewalks or trails, they often don't use them, she said.
America's problem is in making exercise as normal a part of life as brushing teeth, Young said. "I just came back from the Netherlands -- even on bad days, they are playing field hockey, and when it's 20 degrees, they ride their bikes," she said.
