blahbityblahblahblah

it sure is boring being unemployed alone at home all by myself :(  *starts pity party*  blah!

i think i might go to school to be an RN!  i was looking at schools last night.  but i don't know, i don't know if i could handle being a nurse.  i for sure want to go back to school once i get my residency here but this time around, i'd like to go and finish and actually have a degree i can USE! instead of my worthless engl lit degree.   if i could i'd just go to school for the rest of my life, never having to work or find a career.  what the fuck, career?  how in the hell do i know what i want to be?  pathetic.  so me, a nurse, hmmm i'll have to think some more on that.  at least i have a year to wait until i get residency (cheaper tuition! yay) and start classes again.  i need a vision, a clear sign of what i should do.

beach goodness

yes the water is cold!  no, i didn't get very far into the water but greg, paul and nicole did!  but the sun was warm, the breeze cool and the beach crowded.  i was being a dork with the camera, taking a lot of pics of myself (yes, yes, i am an attention whore and a dork among other things.)

wednesday morning listening

I saw this bird fly off his head
without him ever lookin up
this here giraffe was never caught complainin
he wouldn't take skin off yer back.

And ya hear yerself
thinkin
and ya hear yerself
thinking
this here giraffe, laughed

I saw this man stick out his neck
with his binoculars intact
He couldn't tell the right side of his brain
Had just lost all interest in his left...
And ya feel yourself shrinkin
And ya feel yourself shrinkin
this here giraffe, laughed
this here giraffe, laughed
And ya hear yourself
And ya hear yourself

when you smile

It's like I never had to see it in your eyes or feel it
I could tell when you smile.
It's like I didn't need to say anything or do much, I could tell
when you smile
All of the subatomic pieces come together and
unfold themselves in a second...
every single molecule is right, when
all of the subatomic pieces come together and unfold
themselves in a second.

looking for work

is like beating your head against a wall!

sigh

but i just got off the phone with a guy and now have an interview tomorrow! woohoo.  the job sounds like something perfect for me.  plus, i've got two job pimps looking for me (although one of them didn't seem to like me too much) and my friend works at a restaurant that is now hiring.  but i am shying away from actually going in because she says the job is hell. LOL  i guess i'm kinda saving that as my last resort.

first time

okay, so i'm drunk, a first for me in san fran.  sometimes you just gotta let loose, sit around drinking too much beer and having great conversation.

HEY!

ya'll shoud really check out Drug WarRant NOW if you haven't yet.  check it daily. it's so damn good.  Pete writes so intelligently about this subject.

whereas i just bitch and moan about this stupid drug war, he actually makes great points that even non drug users can't deny or ignore about this stupid drug war.

okay now i'm really off to the bar...

tidbits

greg got called for a second interview at a restaurant here in town.  that's all i'm gonna say about that, don't wanna jinx it!

today i had one of those ah hah! moments.  things that had me so confused last year make so much sense now.

i guess we are going to hit the bar with another married couple we know here.  this bar is so cool, it's got a huge outdoor patio and you can sit outside and smoke a bowl without having to be all sneaky about it!  i fucking love san francisco.

greg is confident i'll find work this week.  i am too.  the temp place i went to on thursday was better than the place i went to on wednesday and my job pimp is very cool, we seemed to connect.  i think she gets me and will find me a kickass assignment.    we even joked about my eyebrow piercing and she lives in my neighborhood (which is the best damn neighborhood in SF woot.)

it's been hot here this weekend and by hot i mean a beautiful perfect 75 degrees.  did i mention that i fucking love san francisco yet?  the bestest thing is that i know it's not going to get bitter cold!  my boogers aren't going to freeze in my nostrils this winter! YAY!  soon below freezing temps and windchills will just be a forgotten nightmare.  we've already decided we will only go back to minnesota in the summers.

alright, i'm outta here, time to get my drink on ;)

a day at the beach

yesterday we headed to ocean beach.  we walked through golden gate park and so i just had to see the bison paddock.  the buffalo didn't look too happy and i felt bad for the poor guys :(

after visiting with the buffalo, we headed west to the ocean.  i've always loved water and it's just so fucking cool to live so near this massive body of water.   i just sat in the sand, sipping a beer, absorbing it all; the sound of the surf pounding the beach, the seagulls flying overhead, dogs playing in the water and best of all, surfer boys! yay for the ocean!

so the plan is (after we get working, of course) to outfit ourselves with bodyboards, wetsuits and fins so we too can play in the water!  i can't wait!  of course, i'd love to learn how to surf but well, i don't wanna die immediately (haha), so i think bodyboarding is the way to start.

past weekend

there was an airshow here over the weekend.  friday afternoon, paul, greg and i bussed down to the wharf and watched the blue angels.  god, i love the intense sound those jets make!  we headed back to the wharf saturday afternoon with nicole joining us to get our fill of loud jets and cool stunts.  the weather has just been gorgeous and it was great to sit by the water's edge.  the sound of the water lapping at the shore and all the boats crowding the water reminds me of home.

and i'm back!

woo! got internet 10 days sooner than expected!

we got here with no problems.  the moving truck worked perfectly for us, the cats didn't freak out by being in a truck for three days and greg and i didn't get into a fight!

we LOVE our new home.

here's a few pics from our trip out.

the kitties chillin' in the truck.  they did amazingly well!  we were shocked at how well they handled the whole move.
