weird dream
i dreamt that greg was all "let's have a kid now."
weirdness.
now don't get me wrong, i do want a child -someday- just not now. or anytime soon. we are in no way ready for the responsibility a child means. the weird part of the dream is that greg was the one saying he wanted to have a kid. he's more weary about the whole kid thing than me. in my dream i was just so flabbergasted that the words "let's have a kid now" were coming out of greg's mouth. *shock* :)
sidenote: i rarely, if ever, talk about my dreams on here, i think reading about others dreams is boring! but i just had to post this little bit. because of the weirdness!

thanksgiving san francisco style
since we don't have any family here and our plans to get together with some friends fell through (we were all feeling too lazy to mobilize and meet up) greg and i walked over to king's diner and had cheeseburgers and shakes for thanksgiving dinner.
we were both just happy to have to the same day off together. with our jobs, we are working opposite shifts. greg works early mornings and i shift between 11am starts to 3pm starts. it's hard to get use to not having the whole evening to spend together. we were very lucky when we both worked at kieran's since we worked the same shifts and had weekends off. but i am thankful that we at least are both working! this is just something i have to get use to.
i'm just happy we are together, sharing our lives and adventures. i love you baby!

in other news...
greg has changed jobs! he went from a very corporate place to a not-so-very corporate place. which is a good thing i think. he starts on monday. the best thing (besides leaving the corporate bullshit behind) is that his new job is within walking distance. neither of us need to pay to get ourselves to work which saves us $90 a month on transportation costs. go us!

wow!

the show was great! the party was awesome and the people were so very cool. we exchanged contact info with some oaklandites and hopefully we will hook up with them again! UL was asked to do a show today but since the invite was on such sort notice (and i have to work...not that i'm a big part of this group but i wanna be there too!) they declined. i'm hoping we can arrange to be at the next show they do. UL performed first which kinda sucked since there weren't very many people there yet. but those that were present loved the performance. and i even had a little part in the show.

update
tonight, greg, paul and myself are heading over to oakland because unconditional loathing actually scored a gig. aside from a few videos, tonight will be the first time i experience unconditional loathing. tonight's show only features two members of UL*, paul and greg.
paul says they're coasting on the last vapors of recognition. the result of which is a flurry of self promotion...four years ago. he also says he's a poseur. haha that paul, he's so funny. um anyway, okay back to the interview. greg says they're heading straight to the top! and how could you not believe these two?

i'll have a full report on tonights shenagians (or debacle? from paul) tomorrow..maybe...we hope so!
*members of UL: joe mattX3 chris jerry jay leanne theo and have collaborated with many others

i love it!
my job that is. it rocks.
i like the customers, fellow employees and the bosses. all around goodness. the job is fun and i've caught on quick. i was left alone after about 3 hours of training yesterday.
these last two days have just flown by which i love. if i have to be at work, i want to be crazy busy so i don't notice the time. this job seems to move at that pace which just makes it all the better. yay!
(one small minor bitch though...my feet and legs ache! gah, i hate feeling old. i should get use to it soon enough though)

i set up a new category. the way i see it. I put all my posts with pics in them there so if you don't want to read my drivel you can skip the talky talk and go straight to the piccy pics. if you think my writing and my pics suck then i don't know what you are doing here in the first place! :P

the details
so after getting home from a somewhat long interview earlier thursday afternoon, we hear from a friend that his place of employment is hiring. so i head out (after some encouragement and prodding from greg) walking the few blocks to fill out an application. now get this, on my walk there, my phone rings. it's one of my job pimps. i answer the phone across the street from my soon to be place of employment. she has a four day assignment for me, doing video editing (no, i've never done it before and told her so but i guess it's fine.) i tell her i'll take the assignment. i hang up and cross the street while leaving greg a message with my good news.
i go into the store and ask for an application, fill it out and turn it in. i also ask to speak to someone about a job and next thing i know, i'm being led to the back and soon talking with two managers. about 20 minutes later, i'm offered a job. just like that! a quick text message to greg "Im employed!" and then i'm filling out paperwork!
i start next week! and i'm still able to do this four day temp assignment.
i'm pretty exicted to go to work for this company. it's a neighborhood (read: small, not a super or mega or anything) grocery store/market. not a peep from management about my eyebrow ring or my unnaturally bright red hair (i dyed it this weekend, boredom!) i can wear jeans and tennies. i get benefits, a retirement plan and paid time off. and i'm not stuck in a cube all day. oh and 10% off food, beer and liquor. i've grocery shopped there before and it's stocked with good, healthy quality food that's affordable but you won't find oreo cookies or lays potato chips or mountain dew! no big brand names. it's refreshing.
sweet
i should be sleeping, got that assignment that starts at 8am sharp but i'm just too damn exicted!

boring (non)job woes
soon, i won't have to write about looking for a job. soon. anyway, i had an interview yesterday and i think it went really well. the interviewer and i were laughing and joking with each other, which i always take as a good sign. the only problem, he had an inch thick stack of resumes with him of people interested in the one position he has open! gah! i was the first interview he had though. hopefully, i left a good and unforgettable impression on him. maybe he'll get tired of interviewing after 10 or 15 and decide to hire someone from that smaller pool of applicants? i can only hope.
i also have a second interview coming up, it's going to be a phone interview since she (the person doing the hiring) is on the road with work.
and today i sent my resume off for a job which i hardly have any experience for but the job sounds fun and sounds like something i can pick up quickly. we'll see. i might as well try for all jobs that appeal to me cuz you never know.
i got a call too yesterday from a job. i called back and left a message. please, please call me back! this one is just for temporary help through the holiday season, placing orders and customer service. easy and probably pretty annoying but a paycheck and it's something i rock at and i won't have to dress up for work. jeans and t-shirts :)
i do know i'll be going back to school in a year. and i've been doing some soul searching as to just what i'll be studying. my problem has always been that i have a general interest in so many things but i can't narrow down that general interest to one speciality. i guess more soul searching is needed :)
okay that's all. i tell ya, i can't wait until i can post about fun stuff again!

nothing better than cranking the stereo up!
BETTER DAYS
You've seen better days my friend But I've seen days that would not end I've seen things that never came to be Sitting and sifting through the soft debris.
You've seen better days than me I think on that we can agree And we don't agree on many things 'Cause I'm the one with hoofs and you're the one with wings.
Chorus: See what you've done-- Why don't you see what you've done?
You've seen better days than me I think on that we both can agree And we don't agree on anything 'Cause I'm the one that shouts and you're the one that sings.
You've seen better days my friend But i've seen things that I cannot defend I've seen things that never came to light And that's the reason I can even sleep at night.
Chorus
What have you done?
