Birthday
Today was my 37th. Coming after the baby's birth and the move and various other momentous events, it feels anticlimactic.
Plus, I've been experiencing an odd confusion about my age for the last several months. I'd keep thinking I was already 37, and then be mildly surprised to find out I wasn't. A pleasant feeling, like discovering the clocks have been set back an hour.
There isn't much to say about birthdays -- after childhood, only a few have special significance. The 16th. The 18th. The 21st. The 65th. And all the ones that end in zero. I'd also include the 29th (Saturn return) and 33rd. Other than that, though, I think the Beatles pretty much summed up the topic.
