Friday Five
1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most? I hate having to put away the groceries. It's that last, tedious step; you're tired out from the trip and glad to be home, ready to chill out, but there are all those bags of groceries to take care of first. Usually also one or all of the following: a) watermelon, b) sack o' rice, c) fifty-pack of bottled water.
2. Are there any that you like or don't mind doing? Mowing the lawn. Why not? It's like sitting around thinking, except it's not sedentary, and it feels useful.
3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it's needed? We clean before people come over, especially relatives. Also at irregular intervals throughout the month.
4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules? For some reason, I believe cups used for coffee and/or tea don't require regular washing; they can just be reused again and again. I seem to be under the impression that a beneficial aging process occurs thereby, as with whiskey. At the same time, I like to fetch new cups, so over a fairly short period every coffee cup in the house ends up deliquescing in the study.
5. What was the last thing you cleaned? Took the trash out. Returned some cups to the kitchen.
Don't worry, spiders I keep house casually.
