Stir Crazy
This house's previous owner put in some kitchen wallpaper depicting vines climbing up vertical bars. It's all right, except that she also added light switch covers with a leafy theme; they almost but don't quite go with the wallpaper, and the overall effect is a little jarring.
Especially when you're feeling cooped up and stir crazy. Ugh. I'm wishing it were September -- take-a-walk weather. What's needed now is to bundle the baby into his stroller and head east, towards the public library. It's a 10-15 minute outing, enough to snap out of a funk. And though the proliferation of recently-built homes hasn't really gelled yet into a neighborhood, at the library it almost feels like it has. Our congressman was holding "neighborhood office hours" there last time around. That was cool.
All week I've noticed my energy level's lower; I've been going to bed earlier, deferring stuff that needs to get done. A deadline coming up on the 15th --it's mathematically impossible to meet unless I brainstorm a shortcut, a miracle labor-saver. As the work piles up, my stress level rises; I'm starting to feel hemmed in. And the wallpaper isn't helping.
We could go for a drive, I guess.
