Not to be outdone by the nude women’s peace protest earlier
this month, more than 250 men stripped at a football field in Byron Bay, to show their government that they would not stand for war. The town's men lay in formation to spell out "Peace Man". Fronting a news conference naked, co-organizer, Cameron Sparkes-Carroll said the protesters weren't afraid to bare their manhood to support peace. "We were also making an ironic comment about the small man syndrome that leads to the need for big guns," he said.

Up on the roof
This weekend I spent a good part of each day on the roof of my house. I wasn’t up there to nude sunbathe, spy on the neighbors, install a satellite dish or rescue a stranded cat. I was actually repairing part of the roof...ugh! The offending piece is not a large section, only a 5' x 4' utility room extension, but to me it might as well have been 1000 square feet! As you might have guessed, I’m not a heavy construction, power tool kind of girl. But, I am the type who can’t stand to pay someone to do something that I should be able to do myself. So, Saturday morning found me up on the porch roof tearing off the old roofing, and Sunday morning I was replacing five rotten boards. The worst part is that the roofing project will be continued next weekend with roof felt, black gunk and roll roofing....bah! Right now the roof is sporting the 8 mil plastic sheeting from my emergency kit; however, I’m sure it will be put to better use up on the roof, than by me trying to protect myself from terrorists.
