He will be missed in the neighborhood
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
–Fred Rogers (a.k.a. Mister Rogers), 1928 - 2003
Tummy problems

Sunday nap
My house bunny, Martin, is sick. He’s been fighting a bit of a bug, which could be bacterial or it could be an allergy. But Tuesday he didn’t eat. For a rabbit, that is the worst thing that can happen; it causes their whole gastrointestinal tract to shut down, and can kill them faster than any infection. So, the last two days while I have been waiting for his medicine to kick in, I have been hand feeding him. Actually, it is more accurate
to say that I have been hand ‘coaxing’ him. He’s a good guy and will reluctantly eat if I start out with a bit of a fruit bar, hold it up against his mouth and plead profusely with him. Then he will grudgingly eat a few broccoli stalks, some kale, a bit of parsley and a few stalks of rapini. But when he has had enough, he will yank the food out of my hand and throw it off to his side in rabbit disgust. He is so cute, even when he is sick!
