Pisces New Moon

New Moon - March 2nd, 9:35pm EST

At the time of the New Moon, the Sun and Moon are conjunct; meaning that they are in the same degree of the zodiac. This is a tremendous concentration of energy, and the beginning of a new cycle. The New Moon each month is the time to set goals, make plans or start on a new adventure.

This New Moon occurs in the sign of Pisces which makes it an especially good time to review your past and use this knowledge to set goals and plant the seeds of new dreams. Pisces represents the last stage in the archetypal cycle of development–the distillation of experience into spiritual wisdom. This is a good time to work towards positive mental states, psychic sensitivity, spiritual healing, empathy, and releasing negative emotions (particularly helplessness and defeatist attitudes).

There are several other aspects to this New Moon that modify its impact. Four planets (Venus, Mercury, Uranus and Neptune) are in the sign of Aquarius, which will lessen Pisces love of solitude and instead push us toward group and societal goals and efforts. This New Moon also squares the solar eclipse of December 3, 2002 (at 12 degrees Sagittarius), calling for us to act on what we have learned in the past three months. And Pluto squares the New Moon suggesting that fear could impede the flow of creativity and growth if we let it dominate our thoughts and actions.

At this New Moon, contemplate the future you would most want for yourself and the world....and go for it!
