No School, No Work, No Business as Usual

"Whoever you are, Wherever you are, What's that line you haven't crossed yet to show your determination to stop this war? The line may be different for everyone. But whatever it is, prepare to cross it on March 5th, in large and small acts of courage, singly and together, to stop the war on Iraq! Students have called for March 5th as a day to walk out of class. We are calling on all groups and all people to expand the day to one of society-wide resistance." (more... & more...)

I am having a hard time thinking of things that I can do tomorrow to further the peace effort. If I didn’t go in to work, nothing would be affected except my paycheck–not the war protest I need right now! I intend to continue to talk peace, and spread the word about the petition (below), but I don’t know what would be beyond the ‘line I haven’t crossed yet’. (Except I haven’t gotten naked for peace. Naked lesbians for peace just might get some media attention! Now I just have to find some women to join me!)

Do this first
Before you go on to the next blog, take a minute to sign the petition to the members of the U.N. Security Council being put together by MoveOn.org. The petition is being delivered on Thursday, so the time to do it is now!

This one is catchy
Anita Roddrick is compiling a list of the best anti-war slogans spotted on placards around the world. See if your favorites are on it, and if not, drop her a note so they can be added. Here are some of my favorites from the list:

George W. -- the only Bush I wouldn't go down on.
War is Terrorism With a Bigger Budget
Peace Takes Brains
Buck Fush!
Blind Faith in Bad Leadership is Not Patriotism
One nation, under surveillance
Bush-Dick-Colin -- No Wonder We're Screwed
Go Solar, not Ballistic.
Bombing for peace is like f*cking for virginity
(more...)
