International Women’s Day
March 8th has been International Women's Day for over 90 years; a day for celebrating the achievements of women, and setting goals for the future. This year, many of the celebrations centered around peace rallies. Here are some of the stories coming in from around the world:
- International Women's Day a backdrop for peace rallies, CBC News
- International Women's Day celebrated across Asia, Radio Austrailia
- Iranian Women Rally for Equal Rights
- Peace message at Women's Day rally, The Age (Austrailia)
Nude Blogging
Shell of Shellshocking is nude blogging to protest the war, and suggests a worldwide political movement to counter (or supplement?) the Naked Peace spelling bee. I’m
in! I will need to hang a curtain in my front window though; right now the street has a clear view of me sitting at my computer! Maybe I should just have a blind that says “Nude Blogging for Peace” on the outside facing the street! I'll also see if I can get a friend to take a photo to post like Shell has on
her site. Who is with us? Nude Blogging for peace...what a hoot!
Don’t they have an extra coat?

During a recent nude peace rally in Santiago, the demonstrators decided to leave the park where the rally was staged and march to the presidential palace. Police arrested about a dozen nude demonstrators claiming that the rally had only been authorized in the park. (more...)
I really feel sorry for this woman. From her face it is obvious that it is not her fantasy to be roughly handled by five policedykes, although I know some women who would give anything for this opportunity! And what's up with those hats?
Thanks Shell
for pointing me to this
