A new flavor to life
Uranus entered the sign of Pisces today at 3:53 pm EST. Because Uranus is extremely slow moving, it hasn’t been in the sign of Pisces since the first part of the 1920s. It will travel through Pisces for the next seven years, which will define much of the flavor of this time.
The effect of Uranus is always revolutionary. It often comes as a sort of cosmic earthquake, or bolt from the blue, shaking up our lives and society in order to free us. Uranus brings sudden realizations and flashes of brilliance, which often lead to innovation, technical revolutions, and societal evolution. For the past seven years it has been in the sign of Aquarius, a time that has been characterized by the worldwide influence of technological development, as well
as an increase in our sense of disconnection and disharmony.
Now in Pisces, Uranus has the opportunity to tap into the vibrations of unconditional love and sacrifice. Uranus in Pisces promises more emphasis on the meaning of life. We will enter a time when the deepest, most sacred aspects of human life will be impacted by the forces of unrelenting and dramatic change. Originality
and new perspectives will be emphasized in the realm of art, philanthropy, spiritual quests, and inspirational activities. The accent will be on individuality within a larger whole.
In addition, Neptune will remain in the sign of Aquarius–so Uranus is in Pisces the sign Neptune rules, and Neptune is in the sign Uranus rules. In astrological terms, this is called mutual reception. During this time they will feed off each other’s energy, and mold each other’s power and influence.
Neptune is known as the planet of deep emotions, imagination and spiritual consciousness, while Aquarius is the sign of idealistic humanitarianism, innovation and social organizations. The last time these planets were in mutual reception was 1835-1843,
which was the time credited with the emergence of the Romantic period--when love, feeling and imagination were important values.
People with a strong Pisces emphasis in their natal charts will also experience personal changes in the next seven years. They will need to come to terms with their own individuality and break free from the confining assumptions and stereotypes of others.
These changes will not be abrupt, but will start to manifest themselves slowly in the next few years. Personally, I think the greater emphasis on the spiritual values of life and the inevitable slowing down of our whirlwind pace is welcome!
