Friday’s Favorite Five
The Real Live Preacher
is going through a hilarious ordeal with a mother racoon that has taken up residence
in his chimney. The story started last Thursday,
and as of this writing, the racoon has won....hands down.
Over at One Good Thing,
Flea’s son Alex is recovering from a tonsillectomy. As you can imagine,
this is very trying for a four year old, and even worse on Flea, although as
usual, she spins it into a very funny tale. My favorite stories this week are
Baby
Blues Story (a hilarious doctor’s office visit) and How
Steve Avoided Certain Death (the tale of a ‘rock’ omen--page
down to it). I wish Flea lived closer so I could invite her over and indulge
in more of her stories! She always makes me laugh.
The Untitled
Project takes images and removes the text to “draw attention to the
role text plays in the modern landscape but also simultaneously emphasizing
alternative forms of communication such as symbols, colors, architecture and
corporate branding.” What this project did for me was point out just how
much brand pollution we are exposed to everyday. Imagine a world without labels....I
think it is hard to do.

FutureMe.org has a site
that allows you to send yourself (or anyone else) an e-mail in the future. I
don’t know about you, but for me, e-mail between my work and home addresses
has become my main way of making lists and remembering things I need to do.
This site lets me send a message to myself on Friday that I will receive Monday
morning reminding me of things that I need to take in to work. This is so useful!
The selector goes up to 2029, although I can’t imagine this site being
viable (or e-mail having the same format) 25 years from now.
For those who think they can get by on the cheap,
check out “How to Build a Computer on Almost No Money At All”.
Martin (my house bunny) loves the case mod. However, I would have to entice
him with a bit of parsley or spinach–carrots aren’t his thing. (Thanks
Firda at Weblog Wannabe....and
I think you should reconsider a rabbit as a pet. They are wonderful!)
