Let’s go to the Hut for a pie!
Pizza Hut has withdrawn its advertising with the Miami based Spanish language station Univisión over anti-gay sentiment that was expressed during its talk show, Casos de Familia. The show featured ‘reparative therapy’, the treatment used by Love Won Out to ‘cure’ homosexuality. During the show, hostess Judith Grace suggested that people are homosexual because they were abused or raped as children. In a statement issued when Pizza Hut pulled their advertising from the station, Patti Sullivan said, "We would never endorse those kinds of comments. It's not who we are." (more...)

If you are not familiar with the Love Won Out ‘treatment’, The Guardian has a fairly complete article about the religious, quasi-psychological 'therapy'. In what reminds me of the camp scenes in the movie “But I’m a Cheerleader’, therapists attempt to convince gays (many of whom are teenagers), that they can be ‘cured’ by learning how to control their behavior and redirect their feelings. This really freaks me out...
A woman in Mexico performed an emergency caesarian on herself, and both baby and mother survived!

"She took three small glasses of hard liquor and, using a kitchen knife, sliced her abdomen in three attempts and delivered a male infant that breathed immediately and cried," reported Dr R Valle, of the Dr Manuel Velasco Suarez Hospital in San Pablo, Mexico. "This case represents an unusual and extraordinary decision by a woman in labor who, unable to deliver herself spontaneously, and with no medical help or resources, decided to perform a caesarean section upon herself," (more...)
