A few questions....
Okay, I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to solicit your help on a few things. Most of these I’ve run by my local friends to no avail. If you can help me on any of these issues (problems? ideas? concerns?), please e-mail me.

I loved the Housecall online virus scan when they supported other browsers besides IE. Now they don’t, and I refuse to use a Microsoft product (that has serious flaws) just so I can use a program to detect breaches in its ineffectual defenses! Does anyone know of an online (free) virus scan that will work with Mozilla/Firefox?

My first computer was a Commodore 64. (I just dated myself, didn’t I?) I used to love the first version of the game Jumpman; screen three was the fire screen and screen five had the impossible balls that descended down on you. Does anyone know of a PC version of that game? I would so like to play it and see if I remember how.

I have always been a bit of a DIY type of gal....kinda scary because I’m definitely a polished nails, short-skirted femme. But what used to be just a bit of decorating, minor remodeling, artsy-craftsy types of things, has since I became the owner of a 75 year old house, morphed into a full blown ‘handiwoman’ with tools. Scary! I’m not prepared for this role! You might remember the saga of the 8 x 10 utility room that needed re-roofed last spring. Well, this spring I’m ‘treating’ potential ‘problem spots’ on the rest of my roof. (Word of advice: Southwestern stucco houses with flat roofs were meant for the southwest–not Florida!). It is a stressful transition for me to be ‘in charge’ of the lifeblood of this house....but the house speaks to me, so I have to answer. My latest dilemma is dry-wood (or damp-wood) termites. I know that I should get the house tented and get rid of all the chewies at the same time, but finances won’t allow that this year. Does anyone know of things I can do that will slow them down or beat them back so I will gain a little bit of time? I have sealed off and fumigated the room that is infected and I have fumigated the crawl space between the floors, but I don’t even know if that has done anything except make me feel like I have tried my best. Aaaack!! Is there anyone in my readership who has termite knowledge? It seems to be an area that is full of trade secrets and monopolies. They are just bugs for god’s sake!! I shouldn’t have to refinance my house just to get rid of them!
