A 1000 word picture

Our soldiers returning from the war

Russ has posted 361 photographs of flag-draped coffins at Dover Air Force Base. If you are guilty of becoming just a little anesthetized about the war, this will wake you up.

L Word Withdrawl
For those who can’t seem to get enough; another good rant about The L Word. It seems that the author, Kristina Campbell, is going through some post-season withdrawl. Me, I just switched teams to Queer As Folk; it’s time to see what the guys have been up to (I was so glad when they bailed out Brian...and he accepted the help!).

Cheers...
I have lately been getting into martinis. Not the traditional gin and olive variety, but rather the ‘flavored’ martinis. I have begun polling my drink mixing friends for their favorite recipes. Right now, my main obsession is the Hypnotiq martini (two parts Hypnotiq, one part vodka). It is divine! If you have a favorite, please e-mail me; I’d love to post them in the future.

I have to mention this....
Last week when I read the names of the porn stars that were possibly infected in the HIV outbreak in their industry, I was hit with the strangeness of it. True, the published names were their ‘screen names’, but even so, it is their moniker; and as such, it is a gross invasion of privacy. Even if you disagree with their line of work, I ask that you think about the precidence that is being made by reporting their names. If your medical record was opened and made public, and your name was plastered all over the news in relation to a scary disease, wouldn’t you feel violated?

In an article at the LA Voice, Mack Read says that AIM (Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation) "may have done a wrong thing for all the right reasons, but without considering all the legal and ethical consequences." In our rush to report the news, I think we have stepped over the line of legality and good taste.
