One more reason to love our female doctors
A new study
has shown that over half of doctors’ neckties harbor bacteria, and therefore
should not be worn around already weakened patients. This makes sense to me,
because a tie is hardly ever cleaned. Just one more reason why female doctors
are great–they are not sporting an unwashable (and possibly germy) accessory!
And they say the British are stuffy!

Last Friday the California Supreme Court ruled that a woman whose eggs were
inserted into her lesbian lover to give birth to twins has no parental rights,
even though she is the biological mother. Shannon Minter, an attorney for the
National Center for Lesbian Rights, said if the losing mother, identified in
court papers as K.M., were a man, she would have been awarded rights to the
children, who have moved with the birth mother to Massachusetts and have little
contact with the other woman. “This is just a tragedy for our community.
Our families are just as real as anybody else’s,” Minter said. (more...)
