Does it smell fishy to you?
I know by posting this that some of you will say that it is ‘sour grapes’, or more inexplicably, that the election is over and done with and that we should just move on...but there is a question that needs to be asked by those of us who still believe in questioning and seeking the truth.

Why were the exit polls so wrong?

I say this in all seriousness because traditionally exit polls have been an accurate way to discern fraud. In fact some countries have used exit polls to ensure that the vote was accurate and legitimate (Venezuela is the most recent example). This is because exit polls are very difficult to get wrong since they are based on interviews with voters as they leave the polling places after they have just cast their votes. It would be hard to assume that a substantial percentage of voters would be motivated to lie about who they had just voted for! And yet, our exit polls were off by as much as five points in several states.

But even more disturbing is the pattern of discrepancies between the exit polls and the final tabulated vote. The exit polls:

  • were incorrect only in swing states
  • were incorrect only in those states using electronic voting machines without a paper audit trail
  • were incorrect all in the same direction–they all favored Kerry when the vote went for Bush (logic would decree that inaccuracies would go both ways)
  • showed a discrepancy between the number of voters (remember the long lines?) and the total number of votes cast. In fact, the numbers were not that much higher (or different) from 2000. (more...)

Furthermore the electronic voting machine companies (Diebold and ES&S), as well as the AP (which was the sole source of raw vote totals for the news broadcasters) have heavy Republican ties. Remember Wally Diebold promising to ‘deliver the vote’ in Ohio to President Bush? (more...)

Seem a bit fishy? Here are a few sites to start your questioning....remember, that in a true democracy questions are encouraged and answers are freely given.
