Friday’s Favorite Five

This addictive little game, Guess The Google, presents a montage of images displayed by a Google image search. Your goal is to guess the search word used. I love this one!

I enjoy backpacking, and minimalist camping (and believe it or not, I was a Girl Scout leader for many years--although a quite different one!) One thing I've collected is fire-starting tricks and techniques–but this one is new to me–how to start a fire with an aluminum can, some chocolate and a bit of tinder. Way cool, although I never camp quite this minimalistic!

Even if you haven’t missed a single episode of The L Word, Scribe Grrrl's recaps on After Ellen are a must read. Hilarious!

For many years I answered the religion question by stating that I was an existentialist (to many perplexed looks!). It turns out I wasn't too far off--at least according to this quiz. (What Philosophy Do You Follow?)

You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.

Existentialism 100%
Utilitarianism 85%
Hedonism 80%
Justice (Fairness) 60%
Strong Egoism 40%
Kantianism 35%
Nihilism 5%
Apathy 5%
Divine Command 0%

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. These are just an example. Check it out.

I have been smirking today.....TV Turnoff week turned out to have great timing–I missed Dubya last night! I’m convinced that because of that, my blood pressure is lower today, I have a better, more positive grip on reality, and my sex life is better. (Well, not the third one really, but I can pretend!)

I knew what he was going to say anyway–so why watch? Maybe next time we should all just say NO, and turn off our sets while he’s on.
