Not the Friday Five...
On Fridays I usually do the Friday Five, but I just can’t tonight...there
is something that requires a proper rant....
What is wrong with lesbians? Why do we have to go from one committed relationship
directly into another one? Why are we afraid of being single? What is wrong
with dating?
What typically happens is that one couple is no more reported to be split up
than two new couples form....or the domino effect occurs, when one couple breaks
up, two new couples form which causes four new couples to form...ad nauseum.
Why is this? Why are we afraid of being unattached long enough to date (even
several women for gods sake!), get to know what we want and don’t want
(as well as what we have to offer in a relationship), fall in love and form
a mature relationship? Why do we bring the U-Haul on the second date--and settle,
before we even know what we want out of love?
For women like myself, who would never dream of flirting of coming on to a
woman who is part of a ‘couple’, and who believe in dating, and
falling in love–in due time....we are effectively shut out. If you are
guilty of serial monogamy, then you are also guilty of shutting out women like
me. Our moral character keeps us from ever dating you until you are totally
single....which ends up being never.
