Friday’s Favorite Five
Do you look at Escher prints and see other possibilities for them? Worth 1000
has run two
contests (here
and here) for photoshopping folk to enter their adulterated (and funny) Escher
take-offs.
I stumbled on this site of 'healthy
cooking' recipes while looking for something definitely not super healthy.
But since I try to cook healthy most of the time, I instantly bookmarked
this for more leisurely browsing.
I have stumbled on balloon fetish sites before and I just haven’t been
able to get into them (a balloon just doesn’t do anything for me more
than decorate a party!), but these vintage
photos are charming. For those who like to see photos of women who look
like most women (not the airbrushed ‘perfect’ women in most
photo spreads), check these out.
Several of you wrote me saying you enjoyed the game I mentioned in last weeks
FFF, Twin Spin. This week they posted a second version, Twin
Spin 2. Check it out!
Looking for some summer reading? Award-winning author Kelly Link has posted
her first book of short stories, Stranger
Things Happen, for free download (via a Creative Commons license). The stories
are varied, but all are engaging. Here’s a brief synopsis on what seven of the eleven stories are about:
Kelly Link's collection takes us on a voyage into new, strange, and wonderful
territory. The girl detective must go to the underworld to solve the case
of the tap-dancing bank robbers. A librarian falls in love with a girl whose
father collects artificial noses. A dead man posts letters home to his estranged
wife. Two women named Louise begin a series of consecutive love affairs with
a string of cellists. A newly married couple become participants in an apocalyptic
beauty pageant. Sexy blond aliens invade New York City. A young girl learns
how to make herself disappear.
Hope everyone has a great fourth of July weekend....full of personal fireworks
(oh, baby!!)
