I’m back!!
I’m home from Atlanta, and I’m so, so tired! We had a great time.
Except....who ordered the snow for us–we’re Floridians! What a cruel
joke! On Saturday, the snow flurries were rather thick and the wind was icy. Neither
Sailor Boi or I have clothes for that kind of nonsense! Walking the couple of
blocks for breakfast or to the Marta was painful. I thought my ears, nose and
fingers were going to fall off!!
We stayed at the Wyndham Midtown because it was within walking distance of
so much. It was a great choice. Restaurants in the area we really liked were
Einstein’s (great cuisine), Joe’s on Juniper, the Vortex and the
Flying Biscuit (this one is lesbian owned). We spent Friday and Saturday night
at Blake’s. It’s mostly guys, but it was a great party, and the
boys made us feel very welcome. The fact that it was only a two block stumble
back to the hotel was a definite plus. On Sunday we went one Marta stop up to
the High Museum for the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit–very cool. And
of course we made a shopping trip to OutWrite Books. I wish we had a neighborhood
like that in our area....so much fun! I highly recommend a trip to Atlanta Midtown....we
had a great time, and plan to return for the July gift show.
Now for some much needed sleep......
