I’m back!!
I’m pleased to report that my mother’s hip replacement went well and
although the recovery is rough, she’s getting stronger every day.
Saturday’s Take It Away Party was a bit rainy, but fun....it was great
to spend time with friends, swap the latest news in the community, and indulge--the
martinis flowed freely. I had also boiled up a couple pounds of peanuts, and
it was great to sit out back and chuck the shells into the yard (great fertilizer!).
I know those of you living up north won’t quite get this, but believe
me, boiled peanuts on a summer day are great! You’ll have to try them
next time you venture to the south.
Sunday was our local pride event. Of course I had to go to see who else was
there and check out the vendors. Fun time, and better attended than I expected.
It is amazing to see just how many GLBTs live in our area that I’ve never
met before! I also ran into several people I hadn’t seen since my favorite
club/hangout, Drama Club, closed. It was great to see them again and catch up
a bit.
Monday, Sailor Boi and I hung out at her house and just relaxed. It felt good.
