Two nights of Great TV!

I need to catch up on some comments about two great shows this week!

First up…24 on Tuesday night.  I have never liked Keifer Sutherland much, but I love him in this show.  It is one of the few shows that I hate seeing end.  For those who haven’t seen it, 24 shows an entire day during the season, one hour at a time.  The first episode this season was commercial free and in real time.  It pulled me in hook, line and sinker!

In the first season, I wasn’t really pulled in by the gimmick.  After watching season two’s premiere, I realize exactly what the hype from last year’s was about.  24 is one of the most intense television shows I’ve seen.  Try checking it out, it’s incredible.

The other show is Survivor.  Oh yes, the ole men vs. women in the Amazon.  They merged last night into one tribe.  The count is 4 women and 6 men.  Of course some of the men were sure they had this locked up and would simply pick off the women one at a time.  Only they didn’t expect to have three of the men join the women in an alliance.

In the end, Roger – pain in the bottom (we can say butt anymore in my house) – was voted off.  Oh, it was GREAT!  Mr. women are weak and could never beat the men is packing for home.

Now I will say that I don’t really like all of the women on the show.  The striptease by Jenna and Heidi was outrageous and really uncalled for.  Deena was a little over the top with the feminist stuff, but I do like her and I think it’s awesome that Christy has made it this far.  She’s also been able to prove that she can hold her own in the challenges.  I hope she does well.

Insecure

Well, I have taken that frightful step so many writers take in their career.  I sent out a stack of submissions to agents.  This isn’t the first time I’ve sent out a manuscript, but it is the first time for this one.

My current manuscript has been requested by a wonderful editor at Bantam.   I’m furiously working on getting revisions done so I can ship it out to her.  My hope is to have it sent out before we leave for our wedding at Disney World.

So…since sending out the packets I have been a bundle – no a barrel full – of nerves.  Rejection is another staple for writers and something that I’ve dealt with in the past and can deal with in the future.  It’s the not knowing, the waiting that kills me every time.

My self-confidence usually teeters right on the edge.  A wonderful after affect of the ex-schmuck.  I’m eternally grateful for the support and encouragement of my fiancé the likes of which I’ve never experienced.

I work as hard as I can and learn as much and as quickly as I can.  If I send out the best I could possibly send out, I can’t really ask for much more from myself.  I just hope for that lucky break to come my way and move me into the coveted “published” status!
