Disconnect?

Suppose we built a better mousetrap, I mean a really better mousetrap and the world didn’t beat a path to our door? Should we be thinking about how to get Democratic Party leaders to use our memes? How do we insert them into public consciousness? Should we be thinking, as a first step, of selling our own bumper stickers? Good Lord! There goes free time. Still….

Knowing The Enemy

Does anyone have a select list of neo-con blogs they visit? I know there must be hundreds out there, but I’m not interested in "love it or leave it" rants, or lists of "traitors."

If there are bloggers who are trying to make a reasonable defense of the administration it would be useful to take a look. It might help to focus our meme-making and suggest methods and directions for inserting the memes into public debate. Just a thought.

Transformation

The Meme Project (Home base: Rayne Today) seems to be having an unintended, but quite wonderful, consequence. The project itself is becoming a meme around which a community is forming.

At its heart a blog is a solitary activity, even though it is carried out in public; a journal with the writer as its center, intended to attract and enchant readers. It is never a community project, and I suspect that to call the group of devoted followers of any blog a community is to stretch the meaning of "community" beyond the limits of that over-used word’s elasticity.

We all loved The Raven, but was there really a "Raven Community?" Perhaps not, because a key part of what constitutes a community seemed to be lacking: collective action. It is precisely this sense of working together that makes the meme project so interesting. More later.
