Keeping An Eye On Things…Again
Tucson to Oakland and return was a nice ride. Informative, too. For instance consider the speed limits in California. They have these minimum speed limits posted on freeways: 70 mph. At least I think they’re minimums since no one ever ran less than 70, and at that speed I was passed by everything on the road.
Nice to be able to ride as fast as I wanted for a change. There are no ‘black and whites’ to be seen.
I got home to find that my LAN had mysteriously collapsed. This put the computer with my blogging software out of touch with the net. Now, about that…after 15 years of dial-up connections, none of them ever much better than 28.8, I have finally got a DSL connection. Now I need a bigger hard drive to store all the stuff I’m downloading. Sigh.
I’ll be back during the day for some trenchant comments on the Ten Commandments, and other stuff I thought about on the road.
For a week I didn’t read a newspaper, or watch television, or look at a computer screen (except for the comment I posted from the Apple Store in Oakland.) As usual after a trip I find that nothing much has changed…the same sorts of games are still being played with only a change in the cast of characters.
I did miss my fellow bloggers.
