Adios

I think it's time to shut this place down for awhile. We're moving next week, I've got a book deadline from hell, and, you know, I just can't write about all that, even if I had the time. I've been simmering with barely controlled rage all day, triggered by something stupid, not the real problem at all. Now I'm dissolving in tears. I am so damned lonely. I wonder if I'll ever connect with anyone again. Tomorrow is my last time to play music in church; last week was my last time at the pulpit--just assisting, making announcements, praying, and stuff. I'll be singing, maybe playing too, if I can get that coordiated, Be Thou My Vision, if I can make it through without crying. The keyboardist and I did hit it off really well; she's my only real friend from this area, although I was beginning to know other women. And various people from the past have been reaching out to me, and I don't know how to reach back any more. There's all this weight, rage, fear, and sorrow on my soul, and I don't know how to talk around it. No one wants to hear it. Oh, they might say it, but it ain't true. And I've gained 10 pounds for every year I've been here, which is really ugly.
